Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Professor in Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (the Laboratory) located at Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP), to commence as soon as possible, on a 2-year contract basis with the possibility of renewal. Established as a research unit in HKSTP, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Science or AI Powered Drug Discovery or related disciplines. He/She should have demonstrated keen interest in research with excellent publication record. Track record in securing external research grants, managing funded projects, and supervising research postgraduate students and post-doctoral fellows would definitely be an advantage. The appointee will conduct independent and collaborative research, lead research projects on drug discovery, chemical informatics, molecular modelling, quantum chemistry and/or QM/MM.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. In addition to annual leave and medical benefits, the appointment will also attract a contract-end gratuity up to 15% of basic salary.

Established as a research unit in Hong Kong Science Park and led by Prof. Chi-Ming Che, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biomedical Science or a related discipline, with excellent publication record in the one or more of research areas including catalysis, organic synthesis, bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer pharmacology, Chinese medicine, natural products, metal-based therapeutics and diagnostics, bio-imaging, mass spectrometry, proteomics and/or metabolomics. Track record in securing external research grants, managing funded projects, and supervising research postgraduate students and post-doctoral fellows would definitely be an advantage. The appointee will lead research projects on synthetic chemistry, drug discovery and molecular diagnostics in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biomedical and clinical scientists. They are expected to bring in new research initiatives in synthetic chemistry and chemical biology for cancer research.

Applications are invited for appointment as Technical Managers in Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (the Laboratory) to be located at Hong Kong Science Park, to commence as soon as possible, on a 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Established as a research unit in Hong Kong Science Park and led by Prof. Chi-Ming Che, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biomedical Science or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ experience in the fields of synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, bioinorganic chemistry and/or chemical biology. Experience in preparing grant applications, managing externally funded projects and training research staff would be an advantage. They should have good organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team of multi-disciplinary areas. The appointee will be responsible for operational support to research projects, technical training of research staff, management of laboratory equipment and resources, preparation of project reports and publications, and perform any other managerial duties as assigned. Lower qualification and less experienced candidate maybe appointed as Technical Officer.

Established as a research unit in HKSTP, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostic tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biomedical Science or related disciplines. Research experience in at least one of the areas including bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, Chinese medicine, natural products, metal-based therapeutics and diagnostics, bio-imaging, mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, cancer biology and pharmacology, cancer stem cells and animal models of cancers are desirable. Previous research experience in running clinical study is a bonus.  Applicants should be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.

The appointee will work closely with the clinical doctors at private and public oncology clinics and help in conducting translational research projects and clinical trials. He/She will also help in conducting research projects on chemical biology and drug discovery in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biologists and clinicians.
