Programme I: Synthetic Chemistry
Synthetic Chemistry is the skill set at the heart for invention of new drug leads and for the improvement of existing therapeutic entities via chemical modifications. In this programme, we aim to develop new reaction tools for organic synthesis, construction and curation of compound libraries for drug discovery, and medicinal chemistry studies of bioactive natural products and Chinese medicine, which are the major source of the lead compounds and clinically used drugs.
